The Alameda County District Attorney recently shared a scam alert encouraging residents to be aware of fraudulent COVID-19 pop-up testing sites. If you aren’t sure of a testing site’s legitimacy, remember that LESS is more and get tested at a county/city-affiliated testing site or through medical groups. You can find verified testing siteat: https://covid-19.acgov.org/testing 

Legal: Test kits have received FDA emergency use authorization. Testing sites do not need your social security number or immigration status.  

Ethical: Your test should be free, affordable or billable to insurance. Any additional cost should be clearly explained. 

Safe: Staff wear medical grade protective equipment. Gloves are worn and changed in-between clients. Testing staff implements COVID-19 protocols including distancing. 

Secure: Testing site and lab information are available, and you should know how your personal information will be used.
