Local Moratorium Expires 60 Days After the End of the Public Health Emergency Order

While the State of California’s Eviction Moratorium ends today, September 30, 2021, the Alameda County local eviction moratorium remains in effect.

The Alameda County eviction moratorium prohibits most evictions in Alameda County and will end 60 days after the Public Health Emergency Order ends. The Board of Supervisors has not discussed ending the Public Health Emergency Order and has not scheduled this discussion yet. For more information on the Alameda County Eviction Moratorium, please visit the Alameda County Housing and Community Development home page.

The local and state COVID-19 emergency rent assistance programs still have funds available, and renters and landlords are encouraged to apply.
